University of Alberta Professor Emeritus Dr. Oberg outlines the critical importance for teacher-librarians to understand the concepts of school culture and change in order to successfully lead and implement teaching partnerships in advancing learning and teaching in schools.

Dr. Dianne Oberg

Dianne Oberg is a professor in teacher-librarianship in the Faculty of Education at the University of Alberta in Canada. She is currently Chair of the Department of Elementary Education and Faculty Advisor for the online MEd program in teacher-librarianship. Before coming to the University, Dianne worked as a classroom teacher and teacher-librarian in the public school system. Her research focuses on teacher-librarianship education and on the implementation and evaluation of school library programs. She has conducted research on the role of principals, teachers, and teacher-librarians in implementing the integrated school library program. Dianne is the editor of the international refereed journal, School Libraries Worldwide, and an active member of school library associations at local, national, and international levels.
