Redefining Reading and the Role of the Teacher-Librarian
Abstract
A teacher-librarian sets out to discover what progress, if any, [at the time] had been made in implementing strategies for teaching reading online. Her discussion evolves into part of the changing role of the teacher-librarian to include facilitating the relationship between text and user, and incorporate reading strategies when teaching processes of inquiry.
Alanna King, teacher-librarian and Directions Team Leader of Informational and Digital Literacies at Orangeville District Secondary School in the Upper Grand District School Board in Ontario.
